Yea, Yeah, Yay Etc. . .
OK so I have a question! I have noticed bloggers, myself included, use the work "yea" a lot, but it seems to be spelled differently each time I see it used. I use the spelling I see in the Scriptures, but is it like would and wood, a word that sounds the same but based on the spelling has a totally different meaning? So how and why do you spell "yea"???

I'm so with you there. I think I've used every spelling hoping that one of them was right. Can't find it in my dictionary, either.
As far as I know, it's "yeah" for both meanings.
"Yeah, I totally agree with you"
vs.
"Yeah! We are going to California!"
The scripture version of Yea is used as "behold" or "so".

I keep meaning to call you, but being the bad friend that I am I don't remember until 11pm. We are going to be in St. George over Memorial Day and would love to meet up with you guys if you are available. Let us know.
I agree with Shane, except I think Yay! is a cute slang spelling.
I don't know really about the Yeah thing, but I just got on to wish one of my favorite Mother's out there a Happy Mother's Day! It's been awhile since I blog hopped, so I had to make pt to do it today! Love you Jules!
I use Yay! Yeah! and Yea. I hope that helps.
I say "yay" rhymes with "hay" and "yeah" rhymes with ... well, not much, but it has the short a sound, like in "bad". But that's just me.
i guess it depends on how you use it!!

Just saw your pregnancy counter--congrats!!! No comment on the yea, yeah, yay thing. :)
keep blogging so that Aaron and I can see how your family is doing. Thanks!
Don't worry, most people can't distinguish between "yay" (as in "hooray"), yea (as in "yes," rhymes with "yay"), and "yeah" (as in "yes" but has the same vowel sound as "blab").
