Day 2:
Day one consisted of finding a camp sight in total darkness and piching our tents using our vehicles head lights. Not super fun, but the rest of the trip was!
The kids wasted no time finding a "fort" and setting up inside it. (Isaac was not too happy being made to pose for this picture).
Noah making a swap from binki to rock. Not his wisest. However this was a common occurrence, rock, pine needle, dirt, leaves... lets just say he does not have a real sophisticated pallet! :)
We went with some good friends of ours who happen to have all like ages of children. Dave and I are hanging out with Noah and his buddy just 4 months younger then him under a canopy we set up, it came in quite handy, especially when it rained!
We went to Blue ridge reservoir to swim. Not the best beach, but we had fun!
Owen kept singing he was having a mud party! (in fact typing this 3 months later he said "look, I was having a mud party") :)
My friend and I. So sad to think those sunglasses broke that trip! :(
Of coarse critter hunting. This lizard is just one of the many to fall captive to our 6 hunters.
Dave and co. :) The food is a fun and important part to any successful camping trip in my mind. Tonight our friends spear headed tin foil dinners.
yumm... it was a hit!
And for the record I made omelets in a bag for breakfast that was also a hit.
DAY 3
Good morning Noah (too bad you didn't sleep through the night last night!).
Apparently Owen didn't get a great night's rest either, the short walk we took proved to be a little much for him.
Seth, Isaac, and friend Isaac's age.
We had plenty of down time, our friends brought face paint to pass some time, so fun. The kids each picked their own design.
Another popular pass time, Uno.
What boy isn't attracted to a camp fire? None that I know of. Including these two 2nd graders.
The Daddy's
The Kindergartners.
The pre-schoolers, and taco soup and hot dog dinner night.
The Crew on Day 3
time to pack it up and go home.
Noah was last to be loaded. But like me I am sure he appreciated the quiet time he had to soak in the beauty of this mountain. What a great time, and place. Our company made it even better. We can't wait to do it all again!
